Just discovered "Rolling Distros"
« on: April 19, 2018, 12:22:09 am »
I'm a 79 year old guy that got my first PC in 1998. Of course it was Windows cause that's all anyone knew about back then.  I was so unhappy with it I gave up and went "offline" till I heard about Linux.
Since them my favorite pass time is installing/testing/perfecting OSs. Not a week goes by without installing at least one (sometimes I reinstall one forgetting I had done it before). About 6 years ago I settled on Linux Mint (Mate) BUT once again they are about to upgrade and I'll go thru the grief of backing up & reinstall a bunch of data.
Then I discovered "rolling distros" what a great idea ;D
I spent a happy couple of weeks searching - installing - evaluating and VIOLA!  I found Sparky. It's the BEST not only among "Rolling" but actually superior in most ways then all others.
Is it too good to be true - will I REALLY never need to reinstall?

By the way - I use a clunker desktop for my experimenting cause I've screwed up a pc (several time) in my activities!!

Rolling means rolling so.. no, you do not have to.
I have a few sparky editions installed inside virtualbox 4 years ago and... they still work fine.
